Hope you'll be able to enlarge the Map!!

Click on 45 (The Conference Room) and you will be able to get your bearings from there.

When you study the Map look for Silver ROOM half board Bed and Breakfast(it has no Lounge),

As its Carpet Val, and Frank,l wont be able to do my Ballroom dancing exhibition ie;Quickstep,Waltz,Foxtrot ,Gay Gordon etc ,etc,
So it'll have to be "THE SLOSH",any one remember that ????

Well Andy you have been a busy Beaver (sorry for using the B word I know it sends a shiver down your spine)

Isn't that the room where you started your movie career playing snooker ?

Sounds like you lot are getting excited now. Still not sure if we will make it having problems sorting staff and Aaron having exams.

Have Fun !!!

To think Joker, some of those nasty little B---v--s who used to throw me in the pool are Mams,Dads even Grandma and Grandads now.

The Snooker/Billiards room in my Hi-De-Hi days where my movie Snooker career started( and finished,) were in front of the Empire Theatre ,that would be in the Skyline today wouldnt it ,near the booking shop!!!!!!!!

The building where the Conference Room is now, was the Edinburgh Building ,a Dining Hall also used in the peak seasons (Edinburgh and Warwick),it had tennis courts behind if l remember rightly just like today

Hoping you'll be able to make it to the Reunion if not l'll pop over one of the Hot !!!!Summer !!!!days we are going to have

I remember the slosh very well, and the alley cat, obviously, Andy. look forward to giving it another go, sure we could manage it on carpet if we have to. Wish there was still a ballroom tho, for the old waltz and quickstep, that's my favourite by the way, not that I can cope with it anymore. Why didn't someone invent the slowstep?

The Quickstep used to be my favourite too Val.

Looking forward to being Sloshed with you also,l better get learning it just in case

l remember one afternoon tea dance in the Princess Ballroom we had an orchestra in those days didnt we.
Although it was a sunny day outside we still had a few in the Ballroom
l was on duty with two more female Redcoats when no one got up to dance so l thought l'd better get it going so l looked for the prettiest girl in the ballroom went up to her asked her to dance she declined twice but l dragged her up and she was about a foot and a half taller than me, very embarrising, l managed to do a bit of clowning around and got her to carry me off at the end which got me out of it and got a laugh
So size does count

Redcoat reunion

Postby goodie » Wed Apr 23, 2008 5:35 pm

I really wish I was able to attend what I think will be a superb event.
I know that I would really enjoy the company of many like minded people that shared the same experiences that I had.

I know that I would really enjoy swapping tales from a bygone era.

I know that I could afford to attend the event and I know that I could get the time off work.

I know that my partner who has never worked at a Butlins site would not really mind me going and would probably say
Have A Good Time Steve.

So why wont I be going?

The answer is simple.

I hope to be still very very drunk after the new love of my life
Cardiff City FC win the FA Cup for the first time in 80 years.

But please have yourselves a wonderfull time and I hope to get to your next event.
Worked as a redcoat at Barry Island for 3 seasons my first year was 81.Still in touch with a few of the old gang and every now and then we meet up and get lashed.

Well goody I hope your dreams come true, and a Welsh football side wins at Wembley. Did Wales ever win there I wonder. Back to the Reunion, looking at your map Andy, still trying to figure out where to park our horse and caravan, as the car park on the right seams to be covered with sunbeds along with foreign visitors no doubt. See you soon.
