Reds Reunion.

Postby frank worrall » Wed Feb 06, 2008 9:36 pm

Looking forward to meeting all those ex Barry Reds, at least six or seven up till now. Looking at the photos on the above site, I am sure I know a number of them. One still owes me a fiver, but as another red said, if its the one I said I stand no chance. Meeting all the others from all the other camps will be brilliant, and will bring back a lot of memories of Butlins, and will give me quite a lot more I am sure.

Hello Gang!
A big thank you to all those who've already paid their deposits for the REDCOAT REUNION 23-26 May Skegness. I am delighted to inform you that we have now hit the numbers we required to secure the bookings and the Convention Room. However, there's still plenty of room for lots more of you to join us. We're going to freeze the cost at £140 per adult and £90 per child till 1st March, but then it will have to increase. You can get in touch with me via this site, or go to the REDCOAT REUNION page of my website:
www.redcoatsreunited.com or www.butlinsredcoats.com (N.B. They're mirror sites, so you only need to visit one of them.)
Hoping to hear from you soon.

Sorry A J for forgetting that final payment for the Redcoat Reunion 23rd - 26th May at Skegness was due on the 10th March. Final payment in the post, you even caught up with me sitting on the banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland, in our caravan. Looking forward to the reunion, would have sent you a hagis, but not allowed to send wild life through the post. Im told they can give you a very nasty bite especially if wearing a kilt.

Nearly time.

Postby frank worrall » Sun May 18, 2008 5:54 pm

This time next week it will be well underway and a few dreams will be shattered, by this I mean we will have seen the face behind the names. Only joking, Im sure we will all be happy meeting up, although never wanted to read the book about the Archers (a radio series for you youngsters who have never heard it), as seeing the charecters photos would have spoilt my idea of how they looked. One thing for sure there will be a lot of funny charecters at Skegness next weekend self included.

After the show.

Postby frank worrall » Tue May 27, 2008 5:32 pm

First my wife Marion and I would like to thank A.J. for all the work and all the time he put into makeing the weekend such a great success, and all the Reds and their guests for being such a welcoming and friendly bunch (of course). Also the Laurel and Hardy fan club members for being the same. It brought back all the good memories of Butlins as it was, all those past experiences relived with an interesting bunch of people if not unique in their love of Butlins.

l'll second that Frank and Marion, A.J, put on a good show,l certainly wouldnt have had the patience, time and dedication to the Reunion like he had.

Pity the weather wasnt warmer,as its left me with a sore throat thick head and in a sweat.( l think its double pneumonia,or just a mans flu)

Was certainly good to meet Redcoats from other Camps l'd never met, especially the Bygone friends on this website,Good sport Val(Catmad) Frank and Marion, also A.J,(Basilbrush), and what a very nice person Nigel(Bionic Red), my friends Ken Wood and Sheila from the 60s when we were Redcoats together, and of course my good friend Mike Onions and his lovely wife Janet,a Reunion to remember.

Not a lot to photograph as there was no functions in the Conference Hall only film shows

We did have a few photos and camcorders when the Redcoats and Laurel & Hardy members grouped to gether for the photo call

What l enjoyed most was each Redcoat having to go out in front of the members and talk about ones self whilst there was a Redcoat Photo of you on the Screen, had a few laughs over that

l'll add a few photos of my weekend with the Reunion and my family,
l thought l had more photos than l had, cant see the one with Val(Catmad on)

You'll see BM bear on a couple ,with my Grandkids ,BM bear also made friends with another Bear he met,hes also on the photo with him , he seemed pleased when l handed him over to our Val to go with her who wouldnt,

Apart from one photo of A.J, (Basilbrush ) the rest are my family,

Well it looks like I missed out on a treat. Glad you all had a good time, hope that Bear behaved ?

Now about Photo resizing, I have written a guide to resizing and made it as easy as possible (not saying you lot don't know one end of a computer from the other, but we all have to start somewhere and it's better being easy than having to explain at a later date) I'll stop making the hole I'm digging bigger and get on with it. :)
