My favourite act was Mud, do you remember them, it was at a 60/70s weekend at Minehead a few years ago? (time flies) It was a great night with great groups another weekend celerbrating St, Patricks Day. A lot of little green men running around in green hats, I think they were Pixies, and I dont drink much either (too mean). Lets hear some of your favourite times.

You must have liked something

You must have liked something (slow going this) Entertainments wise favourites were theatre and ballrooms , come on lads and lasses you must have enjoyed your selves and come out of the Pig and Whistle at least once while you were there.

I remember seeing Freddie and the Dreamers twice in one night. Also saw the Piggies at Butlins. A Beatles tribute band and after seeing them I became a big Beatles fan.

One of my favourite Butlins memories was Eric Winstone and his Orchestra, at Clacton in the fifties. I was a very young fellow and Eric always let me conduct the band. One year, he allowed me to conduct all through the Junior Talent Show Finals in the Gayety Theatre. Years later I returned as a Redcoat and then AEM and took part in shows in the same theatre. My last time at Clacton was Christmas, 1969, as Assistant to Dave Moore.
