princess ballroom skegness

after all the years of going to butlins at skegness i have never seen the inside of the old princess ballroom. until now,i finally found a picture!! any one else of pics of memories of what it was like inside?

this is were the reds smelt the smoke coming from the escalator,shortly after the ballroom was evacuated,few hours later the building was gone.

Have a read on www.redcoatsreunited.com AJ whos site it is was a Redcoat on duty in the ballroom at the time.

ohhh .... so sad ... those who attended the ballroom are very lucky people... they will have these memories forever.

l have been informed by a long standing Camper that it is called the Prince's Ballroom NOT the Princess,l have always in my 6 seasons known it as the Princess ballroom but l stand to be corrected Maybe my Good friend of long standing Alex(Joker) knows??)
l have added a photo of Skegness 1962 in the Ballroom on the stage doing a Sing-a--long in those days l might add it was a single story building in my days
l'm in front of the mirror at the back behind the two female Redcoats also in the photo Roger Roberts, Carole (Radio Butlins),Joe Boyle, Ken Wood (holding the song sheet),Bob Daley,Val

Another photo of the Skegness 1962 Redcoats having a Sing-A-Long in the Princesss Ballroom But in colour
l think l prefer the Back and White one
